He Was Quackers
There once was a man from Kentucky
Whose bathing had proven unlucky
And though forty-three,
He solved history
By buying a new rubber ducky.

Okay, Dennis … I have to admit … this one has me stumped. It’s the very first time, but it’s a doozy. I’m lost on the “solving history” part. What am I missing?
The “history” was just the history of his baths. Things weren’t going well (“his bathing had been unlucky) until he got a new rubber ducky and that remedied his history of unlucky bathing. If I insert all that in the limerick, it’ll be longer than five lines!
Thanks for taking the time and trouble to clear that up. I guess when I read it, I was having sort of a “duh” moment. But I do love that rubber ducky.
You were having a duhky moment.
Cute, Dennis! And I understand this one.
A perfect Limerick, rhyme, rhythm & humor…
Thanks! I’ve been working on the rhythm to get it right.
