A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose
Call a cat
Another name – rose.
Still a cat.
or
Cat Be Nimble; Cat Be Quick
If I’m still
And don’t even blink –
Hummingbird?

* The haiku I write are lines of 3-5-3 syllables instead of 5-7-5.

Hmmm. A deep psychological analysis of these two poems would undoubtedly show that your feelings about cats are predominantly negative. But that’s okay. I agree. And you’ve done a much prettier job of expressing those feelings than I would.
I’m not sure I’m deep. 🙂
Well, you know how it is: Any good English teacher worth her weight in dictionaries feels compelled to find something “deep” in every poem she reads.
When I see that picture I just hear the cat saying, “I am pretty. I want that to be your last thought before I kill you.”
Yes, I also saw a little deviousness in the cat and that’s why I wrote the 2nd. Still don’t think the flower trap will work on catching a hummingbird, though. 🙂
😉
Dogs have pleasing energy – a need to please. Cats don’t so they are stronger.
Their pleasing energy pleases me.
