Some humor is not quite as funny.
It’s salty, not sweet as pure honey.
It’s whimsy and wit,
And some laugh a bit
For they find this humor is punny.

         Ground Hog Day

I’m locked in a cycle of viewing
A movie that cycles renewing
    One day o’er and o’er –
    I watch more and more;
I’m doing what movie is doing.

Visiting Football Player Makes The Lambeau Leap

          A player, not Packer, at Lambeau
          Made TD and acted like Rambo.
               He jumped in the stands,
               But fan with quick hands
          Used lighter and made him flambeau.

In case you didn’t know: In the National Football League
in the U.S., the Green Bay Packers play at Lambeau Field.
Often, when one of their players makes a touchdown, he
goes to the back of the end zone and leaps into the fans in
the bottom rows.  They’re excited, of course, and help catch
him and slap his back in congratulation.  That jump is called
the Lambeau Leap.

       The Trick Is The Treat

All Hallows’, the worry is witches;
Their curse might bring scurvy or itches.
   But those trick or treaters
   In turn, are big eaters.
It’s sugar that curses, swells britches.

Friend, Foe, Salesman, Wrong Number

Quick!  Jump to your feet – the phone’s ringing,
With Mercury’s feet to it winging!
   We’re so trained by Ma Bell,
   Pride in Pavlov must swell –
Saliva is in our mouth springing!

                  Light Fright

I saw the state trooper’s lights flashing,
And quickly my molars were gnashing,
   As vision of ticket
   Went wild through my wicket.
But, whew! he passed by and kept dashing.

Rookie Gravediggers

Six feet under we bury most dead men
And some we might even go more – ten.
    This one’s planted like wheat,
    And not even two feet.
Please shovel more snow on the frozen.

Woe Floats

Some find their solace in whisky;
But such has proven too risky.
     No sorrows are drowned;
     They just stay around,
And swim with new friends and get frisky.

Crossing The Channel

If we brought them before a wise panel,
Those people who say they can channel,
We’d give them a test
To channel a guest –
Someone who’s not dead but in flannel.

The Cowboy Rescued Her

There was a young lass from Montana
Who slipped on a peel of banana.
She landed, a miss,
But got up as his –
She fell for the fellow’s bandana.

——————–

The Cowboy Married Her

That sweet lass who slipped on banana
And fell for the cowboy’s bandana? –
She married the guy
With stars in her eye
Until they moved ‘way from Montana.

——————–

The Cowboy Left Her

And when they moved ‘way from Montana,
City folks frowned on the bandana.
He put it away
To his miss’s dismay.
Divorced, she wants second banana.
