I thank you, God: You heard Your servant’s prayer,
My earnest plea that You hold back Your wrath
Upon the wicked city You will tear
To pieces by the seam that makes its path

Across its rotten flesh and wicked heart,
Whose mouth declares that You approve its sin,
That You approve the unborn ripped apart,
That You approve that men would lie with men.

And when Your fury shakes their darkest day,
I’m praying now that sinful men will know
That hea’en above and trembling earth below
Agreed upon the devastating blow.

I am no longer praying for delay;
Perhaps their cup of wrath is full today.

The broad way
Lead to punishment –
Many roads.

—

To heaven
There is just one way –
It’s narrow.

—

He’s the way,
The truth and the life –
Jesus Christ.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishment the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Our fate is sealed; gone is the rule of law.
The court has taken on itself a role
Of changing words to legislate; its claw
So proud in reason as it takes control.

The source that gives it power is ignored –
It does not matter what a word might say,
Nor that its range is roped – it cuts the cord.
It bends words since it feels a certain way.

We are a Sodom waiting for the fire,
Gomorrah for the brimstone’s choking smell.
We’re tolerant of sin because the choir
We’re singing in wears robes that come from hell.

God’s holy Court will soon in judgment sit
And lowly court will get its final writ.

is a reproach to any people.
