Posts Tagged ‘sun sets the clouds afire’

A night of rest (it seems to us),
And then awakes the sun,
Whose rising might seem ominous
To those who’ve not seen one.

The sun first sets the clouds afire,
And then ignites the day,
As if Time were a candle’s shire
Where darkness cannot play.

That distant match is both a spark
And Day’s sustaining host,
A brilliant flame dispelling Dark
That leaves with no riposte.

And if it ever failed to rise,
No one would seem to care
For frozen minds don’t realize
When blackened Time is bare.

The photo is one I took.
