On but one sturdy, daring stem
A purple cluster clings
Like grapes whose world turned upside down
When vineyards had their flings.

Instead of hanging, grapes are stacked.
We see they take the path
Of bringing pleasure to the eyes –
Not as the grapes of wrath.

None can say
My family’s a
Perfect bunch.

Hopefully,
None will come to be
A sour grape.

Be careful.
A grape won’t fall far
From the vine.

Families
That cling together
Make sweet wine.

* The haiku I write are lines of 3-5-3 syllables instead of 5-7-5.

Ain’t Gonna Mow No More, No More

Mower blades
Need rescuing
From grass blades.

New Rider

An old bike
Still being climbed on
By a vine.

Fade from color to
